This week I’m celebrating Easter, according to the Orthodox Calendar.
These verses remind us of Jesus Christ’s love for humanity, something we should remember every day of the year.

Your hands... by Costache Ioanid Your hands, sweet Jesus, hands who created us from clay, they stretched out on the wood to be pierced oh, Your hands who gave it all! Your ankles, tired ankles, full of dust, of thorns, of longing, on the wood of shame stood pinned, as the lawful reward of their love... The clear forehead like blue horizons, full of mercy deeply bowed, receiving the crown of our mockery as an Emperor’s highest triumph. Your lips, on which sat the holy words from heaven, tasted the cup of sorrows and hatred Forgiving, letting out rivers of blood. Holy heart, the hidden flower, Coming down, leaving heaven entire to be pierced by a cold spear deeply guilty for loving us so. The Love born from the Father, cries up till this day, sighing. But any soul that hears and believes, In the holy love finds wholesome comforting.

Săptămâna aceasta voi sărbători Paștele, conform Calendarului Ortodox.
Aceste versuri ne amintesc de dragostea lui Iisus Hristos pentru omenire, un lucru pe care ar trebui să ni-l amintim în fiecare zi a anului.

Mâinile Tale...
de Costache Ioanid
Mâinile Tale, dulce Iisuse,
mâinile care din lut ne-au creat,
întinse pe lemn se lăsară străpunse
o, mâinile Tale ce totul au dat!
Gleznele Tale, glezne trudite,
pline de colb și de spini și de dor,
pe lemnul rușinii au fost țintuite,
ca dreaptă răsplată a dragostei lor...
Fruntea senină ca zările-albastre,
plină de milă adânc s-a plecat,
primind diadema batjocurii noastre
drept cel mai de seamă triumf de-mpărat.
Buzele Tale, pe care stătură
vorbele sfinte din cer coborând,
gustară paharul de fiere și ură
și râuri de sânge lăsară iertând.
Inima sfântă, floarea ascunsă,
cerul întreg părăsindu-l, veni,
de-o suliță rece să fie străpunsă,
adânc vinovată c-atât ne iubi.
Dragostea care din Tatăl purcede,
plânge și astăzi cu-același suspin.
Dar oricare suflet aude și crede,
în dragostea sfântă se-alină deplin!

Scriu deoarece vreau să împart Adevăr și Dragoste în lumea noastră, prin credință și cultură, prin frumusețea care ne înconjoară, și multe altele, chiar dacă ar fi doar o mână de oameni care citesc aceste rânduri.
