Când Tu plutești pe-a mele valuri
din mal în mal se face cale,
lumina valurilor mele
sărută umbra tălpii Tale.
Când Tu-mi călătorești pe-ntinsul
pustiu al țarinelor mele -
tot praful meu sărută urma
și talpa Ta, călcând pe ele.
Când Tu-mi cobori pe liniștirea
cuvintelor Scripturii Sfinte,
m-apropiu și-Ți sărut cu lacrimi
umblarea Ta printre cuvinte.
Când Tu-mi pui jugul Tău pe umeri
și-mi faci pe cruce loc și mie
și-mi dai o parte din ocară
-cum le sărut cu bucurie.
Când stau plecat, cum norii serii
în rugăciunea lor spre soare,
de sărutarea feței Tale
mi-s buzele strălucitoare.
Ce-ar mai putea fi-atunci pe lume
o slavă-asemeni pentru mine
ca sărutarea-mpărtășirii
nemaidesprinsă-n veci de Tine.

When You wander over my waves
from shore to shore it makes a way
the light of my waves
kisses Your sole's shadow.
When You travel over the whole
deserted fields of mine -
the whole dust kisses the trace
and Your sole, stepping on them.
When You come down upon the quiet
of the Holy Scriptures words,
I get closer and I kiss tearfully
Your walk among Your words.
When You put your yoke upon my shoulders
and make some room for me on the cross
and You give me part of Your disgrace
- how I kiss the joyfully.
When I sit humbled, with the evening's clouds
in their prayer towards the sun,
of Your face's kiss
are my lips shining.
What could be then upon the world
a glory similar to me
than the kiss of communion
never again parted from You.
