Gospodăria – gospodina începe grijitul casei pentru iarnă. În jurul casei prinde a se aduna rodul câmpului. Orice iroseală e un păcat. De aceea trebuie chibzuință ca și pentru lucrurile din casă. În pivnițe și beciuri se așează cu rânduială în nisip, zarzavaturile pentru iarnă; se pun murăturile.
Grădina de zarzavat – se culeg mai toate zarzavaturile. Rămâne doar varza și acele verdețuri care pot fi acoperite cu frunzar spre a da repede primăvara (salată). Zarzavaturile și legumele se păstrează pentru iarnă și uscate la soare, după ce se taie bucățele și se opăresc în apă clocotită.
Livada – e multă hărnicie. Se culeg poamele toate. Copacii se curăță apoi de mușchi și licheni cu o perie aspră.
Via – e veselie și mișcare. Se culeg strugurii; se stoarce mustul.
Vitele – se aleg. Cele de muncă de o parte, cele pentru îngrășat de alta. Acum au cu ce să fie hrănite bine.
Câmpul – e iarăși hărnicie. Se dă zor cu aratul și semănatul.
Iubiți pe vrăjmașii voștri.

Cine e fericit?
– Acel care poate înfrunta sărăcia și lipsurile cu veselie și curaj.
– Acel pentru care viața simplă, gândirea dreaptă și lucrul greu, constituie adevărata bogăție.
– Acel care știe prețui din inimă frumusețea în natură și în ființa omenească.
– Acel care își are averea mare în bogata-i personalitate și în caracteru-i fin.
– Acel care strânge tot ce e mai bun în lumea în care trăiește și dă tot ce are el mai bun, altora.

Household – the homemaker starts tending the house for winter. Around the house starts the gathering of the field’s harvest. Any waste is a sin. That is why we need thoughtfulness as for the things in the house. In the basements things are put carefully in the sand, the vegetables for winter; the pickles are stored.
The vegetable garden – mostly all of the vegetables are gathered. Only the cabbage and those greens which can be covered with boscage are left so that they will bloom in the spring. Vegetables are can also be kept for winter dried in the sun, after they are cut into pieces and they are boiled into hot water.
The orchard – is full of work. All fruit is harvested. The trees are cleaned then from moss and lichen with a rough brush.
The vineyard – is full of joy and movement. The grapes are harvested and pressed to get grape juice.
The cattle – are being chosen. The work cattle on one side, and the fattening cattle on another. Now they have what to be fed with.
The field – is full of work. The ploughing and seeding is being rushed.
