Gospodăria – ziua e scurtă, ploile mocnite de toamnă nu prea dau voie să calci pe cărările desfundate. Începe viața de casă. Fusul sfârăie; stativele țăcănesc, iar când seara se lasă, în jurul lămpii prinde a avea tot mai multă cătare Farul Creștin, cu toate cele bune cuprinse în el.
Grădina cu zarzavaturi – suflă vântul a pustiu. S-au cules și cele din urmă pătlăgele roșii zbârcite de brumă. Straturile cu salată, spanac, puse ca să dea repede în primăvară, sunt acoperite cu frunzar des.
Livada – e luna cea mai potrivită pentru sădiri de pomi. Cei bătrâni se curăță de vreascuri, se perie cu perie de sârmă pe trunchi, ca să se ia mușchii ori lichenii de pe ei.
Ogorul – n-a încetat chiar cu totul munca. Dacă vremea nu e împotrivă, acum se mai cară gunoi pentru ca ploile și omătul să-l înmoaie.

-Cu cât mai mare va fi progresul intelectual al veacurilor, cu atât mai mult putem folosi Biblia nu numai ca temelie, ci și ca unealtă a educației.
-Biblia este o carte de putere veșnică.
Iar Colleridge spune: “Studiul fără preget al Bibliei va feri omul de a deveni josnic.”

Household – the day is short, the slow autumn rain don’t allow you to walk on the flooded paths. Now starts the house life. The spindle burns; the stands are nagging, and when evening falls, around the lamps is more and more search for the Christian Lighthouse, with everything that is good in it.
The vegetable garden -the wind blows over the deserted place. Even the last tired by frost tomatoes have been collected. The layers of green salad, spinach, planted early to be grown by spring, are covered by thick boscage.
The orchard – this is the best month for planting trees. The old ones should be cleaned of dead branches, brushed with a wire brush on the trunk, in order to take down the moss and lichen.
The field – the work hasn’t stopped yet. If the weather is not against it, now you should carry manure so that the rain and the snow to soften it.
