Am participat în seara de 16 Decembrie la premiera mondială a ‘Recviemului “In Memoriam” dedicat Victimelor Comunismului’, victime atât ale Revoluțiilor Europene din anul ’89, cât și ale perioadei comuniste din anii 1900.
Numărul de victime totale este de ordinul milioanelor (se estimează a fi 94 de milioane de suflete care au decedat datorită opresiunii regimului comunist).

Recviemul a fost compus din Șapte Părți, reprezentative celor Șapte Țări care au ieșit de sub regimul comunist în anul 1989, și anume Polonia (Introitus – Kyrie), Cehia (Sequentia), Slovacia (Offertorio – Return), Germania de Est (Sanctus), Ungaria (Agnus Dei), Bulgaria (Lux Aeterna), România (Responsorium).
Compozitorii acestor piese au fost prezenți în sală, pentru a asculta pentru prima dată interpretarea acestui moment istoric, construit și ghidat sub bagheta maestrului Gabriel Bebeșelea care a pus, și de data aceasta, trup și suflet în această idee care a devenit materie.
Soliștii Luiza Fatyol, Martiniana Antonie, Marius Vlad Budoiu, Adrian Sâmpetrean, Orchestra Filarmonicii Banatul și Corul “Ion Românu” (sub conducerea maestrului Iosif Todea) ne-au pătruns în adâncul sufletului, prin recolecția sentimentelor care au fost trăite de către victimele comunismului, dar și de către martorii ororilor din acele vremuri nu foarte îndepărtate de ziua de azi.
Am fost “loviți” de sunete cutremurătoare, de șoapte, de rugăciuni, de strigăte după ajutor, de momente disonante, care au fost urmate de speranța către un viitor mai armonios, de momente de respiro, de eliberare de sub regimul dictatorial.
Compozitorii Zygmunt Krauze, Martin Smolka, Iris Szeghy, Sven Helbig, László Tihanyi, Dobrinka Tabakova, Dan Dediu, și-au pus întregul suflet pentru a ni-l prezenta nouă prin aceste piese în urma cărora ne-au dat lacrimile, amintindu-ne de câtă durere a fost și mai este în urma regimului comunist.

Citind aceste versuri din părțile III și IV, respectiv Offertorium (Return) și Sanctus, traduse după compoziția lui Iris Szeghy și Sven Helbig, mi-am amintit mai ales de geniile, de intelectualii, de credincioșii, de oamenii simpli care s-au frânt în închisorile comuniste pentru că nu s-au îndoit în fața celor care îi obligau în a părăsi valorile în care credeau cu tot sufletul lor; valori pentru care oameni s-au luptat și în anii ‘89, în urma cărora am obținut Libertatea – Libertate pe care trebuie să o păstrăm și noi, la rândul nostru.

Mii de oameni au murit în chinuri groaznice, absolut înfiorătoare, sub conducerea comunistă, pentru că aveau un vis: a fi liber.

Maestrului Gabriel Bebeșelea i s-a împlinit visul, alături de compozitorii Zygmunt Krauze (Polonia), Martin Smolka (Cehia), Iris Szeghy (Slovacia), Sven Helbig (Germania de Est), László Tihanyi (Ungaria), Dobrinka Tabakova (Bulgaria), Dan Dediu (România), maestrul Iosif Todea, (dirijorul Corului “Ion Românu”), soliștii Luiza Fatyol, Martiniana Antonie, Marius Vlad Budoiu, Adrian Sâmpetrean, și artiștii deosebiți care au purtat această piesă până la final: membrii Corului și Orchestrei Filarmonicii Banatul, din Timișoara, fără de care opera artistică nu ar fi avut aceeași rezonanță, mai ales în fața publicului Român.

Publicul, la rândul lui, a fost zguduit, profund mișcat și pătruns de acest mesaj veșnic de a comemora istoria, victimele și personajele marcante care ne-au condus la viața de acum.

Acestea au fost ultimele cuvinte rostite de către Corul “Ion Românu” în această operă monumentală, fiind urmate de răsunetele orchestrei care continuă și acum în inima audienței.

Sincere felicitări tuturor celor implicați în creația acestei capodopere muzicale și în comemorarea victimelor căzute sub regimul comunist!

Spre a nu se mai repeta astfel de tragedii!

On December 16 I attended the world premiere of ‘Requiem “In Memoriam” dedicated to the victims of communism’, victims not only of the European Revolutions from ’89, but also of the communist period in the 1900s.
The total number calculates millions of victims (it is estimated that 94 million souls died because of the oppression of the communist regime).

The requiem was composed of Seven Parts, representative of the Seven Countries that broke from the communist regime in 1989, respectively Poland (Introitus – Kyrie), Czech Republic (Sequentia), Slovakia (Offertorio – Return), East Germany (Sanctus), Hungary (Agnus Dei), Bulgaria (Lux Aeterna), Romania (Responsorium).
The composers were in the concert hall, listening for the first time to the interpretation of this historical moment, built and guided under the baton of maestro Gabriel Bebeșelea who, again, has given his body and soul to this idea that became matter.
The soloists Luiza Fatyol, Martiniana Antonie, Marius Vlad Budoiu, Adrian Sâmpetrean, The Banatul Philharmonic Orchestra and The “Ion Românu” Choir (conducted by maestro Iosif Todea) pervaded deep into our souls, recollecting the sentiments that were lived by the victims of the communist regime, as well as the witnesses of the horrors of those times that took place not too long ago.
We were “hit” by earthshaking sounds, by whispers, by prayers, by cryings for help, by dissonant moments, that were followed by the hope of a more harmonious future, of respiro moments, of freeing from the dictatorial period.
Composers Zygmunt Krauze, Martin Smolka, Iris Szeghy, Sven Helbig, László Tihanyi, Dobrinka Tabakova, Dan Dediu, gave their souls to present us with this art, which brought us to tears, remembering how much pain was and still is due to the communist regime.

Reading these verses from part III and part IV, respectively Offertorium (Return) and Sanctus, translated from Iris Szeghy și Sven Helbig, I remembered the brilliants, intellectuals, believers, and simple people who broke in the communist prisons because they did not bend before those who obliged them to leave their values that were their whole souls; values that people fought for in ’89 as well, and those brought us Freedom – Freedom that we must keep as well.

Thousands of people died awfully, simply terrifying, under the communist regime, because they had one dream: to be free.

Maestro Gabriel Bebeșelea had his dream come true, with composers Zygmunt Krauze (Poland), Martin Smolka (Czech Republic), Iris Szeghy (Slovakia), Sven Helbig (East Germany), László Tihanyi (Hungary), Dobrinka Tabakova (Bulgaria), Dan Dediu (România), maestro Iosif Todea (the conductor of The “Ion Românu” Choir), soloists Luiza Fatyol, Martiniana Antonie, Marius Vlad Budoiu, Adrian Sâmpetrean, and the remarkable artists that carried the entire piece to the end: the members of The Choir and The Banatul Philharmonic Orchestra , from Timișoara, without whom this artistic work wouldn’t have had the same resonance.

The public, as well, was shattered, deeply moved and touched by this eternal message of commemorating history, the victims and the great people who led us to the life we have now.

These were the last words spoken by the “Ion Românu” Choir in this monumental work, followed by the echoes of the orchestra that are still heard in the heart of the audience.

Honest congratulations to all involved in the creation of this musical masterpiece and in commemorating the victims who fell under the communist regime.
